The spirit and steadfast tradition of giving is alive in everyone’s heart during the Christmas season. It is a time when we share our highlights of the year with one another, have our favorite foods and exchange gifts. For children especially, it’s a magical time of year. This year for many it will be different. We understand that because of the pandemic, many families will have to reinvent their holiday celebration and adjust their plans for Christmas gatherings, reluctantly opting for smaller gatherings or no gatherings at all. Furthermore, many of us have less available funds for festivities and gift giving. Nevertheless, families and friends will still be looking forward to seeing loved ones even via Online and celebrating however they can. There is still much to celebrate.
As many are unable to have that connection, it is our prayer that in the absence of normalcy, that the Lord’s generosity in his great gift “The life of Christ” be your most cherished gift of all. The birth of Christ is after all, what this season and entire holiday is about. The sacrifice that our Lord and Savior Christ made for the absolution of our sins is an eternal gift. It is the best gift to share as we rejoice in the birth of Christ and spread the “Good News” with all that we can. We pray that God will bless your life entirely as you delight in the blessings before you. EPC prays that you and your loved ones have a Blessed and safe Christmas. This is a time for new beginnings, for renewed faith, and for the strengthening of our connection to the Father as we celebrate the life of Christ. Merry Christmas from EPC
Isaiah 9:6
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Luke 2:15-20
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
Matthew 1
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[f] because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[g] (which means “God with us”).
