Let the joy of love consume your heart and embrace the love that God has blessed you with. Living your life with the one that you love and sharing all life has to give through and through is an immeasurable blessing. As traditional vows proclaim, “for better or worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer until death,” couples embark on their journey of “white lace and promises” as they ride in into the sunset. 1John 4:16: 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Life’s road may have complications but two are better than one. As we approach those hardships in life, you may find it daunting to live by your cherished promises, as the ominous clouds of rain open up. This is when your real blessings are seen, as you recognize that you now have someone to love, to grow with, to struggle with, to pray with, to hope with, to laugh with, to dream with, to overcome with and to succeed with. In these moments you will comprehend the enormity in the miracles of matrimony; in understanding that God has given you someone to love and someone to love you in return.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

1John 4:18: There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Although, divorce is common place and some of those that grew up in broken homes may not want to replicate their family experience thus avoiding the confines and obligation of having to compromise, conform and adhere to the marriage commitment, have faith in the power of love. God knew that man needed companionship and love. Be brave, there is no fear in love.

The pressure to be perfect and to please your mate are real. Life is full of the unexpected and full of change. We all hope that love can withstand and carry us and survive our entire life.

Support your spouse with prayer. Pray as a family and share scriptures that provide encouragement and faith.

Stay positive and confess your love to your family and to God.

Ephesians 5:25: "For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her." 9. Genesis 2:24: "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

Ephesians 5:22-24: Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Mark 10:9: "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."

1Corinthians 13:4: Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud” Ephesians 4:29: Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Pray with your spouse and with your family for family prayer will strengthen your faith and keep God’s covering over your marriage and family. We pray that all couples have an impressive journey together in life and that the journey is filled with love under God.

Philippians 4:6: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
